this application has failed to start because msvcr80.dll was not found. try re-installing the application may fix the problem

It seems to be a known problem with a rather tedious solution;

Running the command sfc /scannow tends to repair Windows files;
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm so that might be worth a shot.
