Google+ Linking out contributors for SEO & Marketing? - Patrick S - 04-08-2014 08:13 PM I run my companies G+ page- we have different contributors. When we post our blogs- how do we link/tag them to the post-- with the rel author tactic? that wasn't the question.. dont copy and paste what you find on a google search- - Imisidro2 - 04-08-2014 08:16 PM You need to do the Google+ authorship Here are instructions with regards to Google+ Authorships to link content you publish on a specific domain to your Google+ profile: 1 - Make sure you have a profile photo with a recognizable headshot. 2 - Make sure a byline containing your name appears on each page of your content (for example, "By Steven Levy"). 3 - Make sure your byline name matches the name on your Google+ profile. 4 - Verify you have an email address (such as stevenlevy@wired.com) on the same domain as your content. (Don't have an email address on the same domain? Use this method to link your content to your Google+ profile) Do this process. Be sure that the contributors have email from your domain However, if you just want to use rel author markup, use this process https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2539557?hl=en - Nixon - 04-08-2014 08:22 PM There are two ways to claim Google+ Authorship for your content. First off, if you have an email address that matches your domain (you@yourdomain.com) and each piece of content you have written on your website is clearly marked as by you, you can log in to your Google+ account, visit the Google+ Authorship page, and enter your email address. If you don’t have an email address on each site you write content for, you can claim authorship by adding a link to your Google+ profile to your author bios on each site you write for using the following format. <a href=â€[profile_url]?rel=authorâ€>Google</a> Then add each site’s link to your Google+ profile under the Contributor To section. You can read more details about how to claim Google+ Authorship in Webmaster Tools Help. You can also use the Structured Data Testing Tool to see if Google has linked your Google+ profile to your content. - Kim Cunnings - 04-08-2014 08:30 PM From what I know, you can do in 2 ways: 1. Provide a link to the author's Google+ profile on the page where the content is 2. Create a page for each contributor that has links to all the posts written by that person, and link to the author's G+ profile from that page. using the rel=author tag of course. Plus, the author should add the URL of their contributor page (on your blog) to their Google + page, in the "Contributor to" section. That should do the trick. Also, there is a known bug with Google authorship right now, it's not being displayed for some authors, just so you know. |
