I would like to purchase an iphone 5 or 5s and was wondering of there is any cheap and scam free websites to buy one can be new or second hand

The BEST and SAFEST Is EBay. they do not put up with scams. and all members are screened and varifyed. sorry for misspelling. but i am a member of e bay. and i buy/sale all the time. no problems ever. as a ebay buyer. you do need a pay pal account. otherwise if this not work for you. you can just try looking for local classified ads in your town. google search this. i DO NOT reccamend craigs list. good luck. hope this helps.

Look on Craigslist but ONLY if you can meet the seller face to face at a phone store or Apple store to verify the phone is not a clone or stolen. If they won't agree to meet you at your phone store or an Apple store, then do not even think of buying it
The market is flooded with fake Chinese clones that might look like an iPhone but don't sync with your computer or the App Store
And thieves always sell their stolen phones on sites like Ebay, Craigslist, etc and you don't find out it's stolen until you try to activate it
So always meet at a store selling phones and plans and they can check the phone to make sure the seller is the real owner and transfer the account to your name so they can't report it stolen after you buy it

The only site i believe that is 100% scam free is http://www.apple.com/
For 2nd hand phones i believe only on craigslist and local apple user groups.
