SEO Google Rankings suddenly dropping? - Kris K - 04-08-2014 08:24 PM

My site http://www.unique-expo.net/ was a top 2 rankings site for many years and suddenly some very new domains popped up and took over top ranking for keywords like "pipe and drape".

I cant figure out how to beat them. Our rankings keep slipping and we have done everything we can think of to optimize it with coding, page content, WMT etc.

Please help

Google is working hard to keep people from gaming the system to increase your rankings. Any new search ranking algorithm results in winners and losers. Looks like you are one of the losers.

Google's algorithms are highly secretive to help prevent people from gaming the system.

Took a look and it may be something simple...semantic related keywords. Have you tested using "trade show exhibits" or something similar? Might be worth a try adding your location to your keywords also.

Run a search with exact match for trade show exhibits then check the first page of the search engine. I didn't see your site for your targeted keywords in the first two pages.

To stay ahead, you have to tweak your initial keywords as you go along because search engine algorithms do change over time.

The Panda/Penguin Google updates have changed things but for the better in my opinion. One of the things most obviously missing from your site is social sharing buttons for twitter/facebook. Google are dishing out plenty of smarty points to sites that are making it easy for visitors to share the sites contents across the social net works. Email me and I'll send you some links to a series of videos by SEO expert, Brad Callen that explains the situation. Your site will be ok, like I said, to my mind once you know what's going on you'll see that Google has greatly simplified matters in the SEO world....

There is always a chance that your site will get outranked, especially nowadays that site competitors are always trying to get to the top spot every minute. If it has been going on for quite some time, I would suggest that you find better ways to get traffic to your site. Use Social Media Marketing and Video Marketing. These are currently the great methods of site promotion.

You need to wait a couple weeks and see if it is still going down. Maybe your competitors are working more on their sites.
