When I try to follow one of my mates in instagram, it simply does not follow them. It tells me that they have never posted anything (when I know they have) and when I press follow it automatically unfollows them. They are not on private.

My instagram does this sometime to,but for me it only happens if i had followed alot of people lately. If you havnt follow no one lately than wait a couple hours i would say 1-2

Id say shut ur phone off then turn it on. also try updating the app

It Could Be That They Could Have Blocked You Or Its Just Your Phone. Try RESTARTING The Phone Or Reinstalling The App.
