I've read a couple of articles saying the internet is made of electrons. So if this is true...then matter does exist inside the computer...which means it's not actually virtual right?

To make it simple:
Everything related to technology including the Internet consist of two parts: Hardware and Software and since there is a hardware then you can say that the Internet is made up of matter.

The Internet is NOT inside any computer, it is the name for a system where multiple servers can offer services to the whole world. So it IS virtual. Its' USE requires the physical hardware like computers, routers and wires or cables. It also requires the use of software on those devices to make them able to connect to each other. The only time electrons come into the equation is when you send or receive data, but that can happen just locally and have NOTHING to do with the Internet.

It looks like rays, it has a beginning, but no end; however sun was made up of matter. So, internet is not a matter. But the source of internet is made up of matter.
