you can call as well as chat on skype
you can also create groups for instant message to many friends at a time.

You can send text message to others with skype. I think it is expensive to text to phone though.

Nope. I can also make calls on my compute to phones.
That cost 2.99 per/month.
I saw a bargain price on 3 months that you could receive calls on your computer for 3 months for 12.05.
And I took it. It's normally 18.00.
