How to connect a blog with my website? - Nancy - 04-08-2014 09:06 PM

Am an owner of 20 websites and using a different domain to create blogs for all my websites.
Example:- My website domain is http://www.mysite.com and created a blog for this website as a sub domain of another domain (mysite.myblogsite.com).
There is a link from my website to blog and links from the blog to my website.
But whenever I analyze my websites with any seo tools the result says that there are no blog configured for my website.
Can someone help me to fix this issue....?

Good question Nancy, always crate a blog for site as sub-directory not sub domain as you have already mentioned that you’ve crated the blog as sub domain (mysite.myblogsite.com) so here would suggest create a blog as sub directory like (myblogsite.com/blog). Now as you have already having as sub domain so do the 301 redirection for same. I hope it will work for you.

The problem is you are using separate domains for the website and blog. If you want to use a subdomain then you should have

http://www.yoursite.com
blog.yoursite.com

If they reside on different servers then I would suggest using a DNS entry on your main sites server to redirect blog.yoursite.com to the other server.

The easier way is just to install the blog in a directory in your website so you have

http://www.yoursite.com
http://www.yoursite.com/blog

I suspect you are using a blogging service so this would not be possible.
