what can happen if the buyer starts a business that is not successfull with the idea?
say other things that can happen if i sell an idea on ebay.
what bad things can happen to me?

It depends on the wording you USE. If you make ANY form of a guarantee, then you ARE liable if it fails. You are liable for fraud even if you HINT at a guarantee! THAT is why all the infomercials you see have a disclaimer regarding YOUR results as opposed to the results they advertise. The most recent example of this that I've seen are infomercials for inventors where they show several successful inventions. Then in the fine print (briefly flashed on the screen in a banner at the bottom of the screen, it says that these results are NOT typical and 95% of all inventions submitted fail in the marketplace. MOST people do NOT read the fine print, and besides, it is on the screen for so short a time you would have to be a speed reader, unless you catch it on tape so you can pause, which is how I saw this particular inventor thing. THIS is where the phrase "your mileage may vary" came from... when auto manufacturers were touting high gas mileage in a car that never delivered on the pomises made in the commercials.
