What is the job title of someone who runs an entire eCommerce site? - Ksmm101 - 04-08-2014 09:09 PM

I have been running an entire large scale eCommerce site for a small business for a while now and I was wondering what the job title for this would be.

It being a small business I was never given a job title, just asked to run it. I would be doing everything there taking product pictures, adding products, writing descriptions, making ads and touching up product shots, customer service and shipping products, Managing their social media accounts, email campaigns, writing seo'd blogs posts, Marketing, sharing, optimizing products, being the CMS admin and making changes to the site( not any language but anything you can do from the back end of Joomla and Magento) Conducting research on how to make the site grow further, Managing programers/developers (we outsourced). Only thing I wouldn't do is anything that has to do with a language such as php, css, html etc. I don't know how to do that.

I've pretty much have experience all around and with anyone in this field should know that tha'ts A LOT! Not complaining, I love it, I learned so much.

Anyway, what would be the job title for someone who does everything? Or rather, someone who runs the entire site. Let say I had a team of people doing these things, what would my job title be? Keep in mind that its not my business, I just run the site so I'm not the CEO or anything.

Let me know if I need to provide further info.

Thanks.

Maybe a webmaster? This is someone who responsible for smooth work of the site: he solves tech problems, updates the info, etc. There are also managers and digital marketers and social media team... It all depends on how big a site is. Big businesses have a lot of people who manage their sites, small business are ofter represented by one person who does everything with his site: he is an owner and webmaster simultaneously.

Well, the perfect job title then will be Online Marketing/Sales Manager, as the work described by you. It comes under SEO i.e. search engine optimisation as your are doing on-page as well as off-page optimisation.
