You can sell a domain name yourself or through sites such as SEDO.

Yes you do have the right to sell the domain, some have sold for Millions of dollars, there are brokers who help you find interested buyers, the worth is often subjective, depending on the buyers need.
One technical note, registrars can make it difficult to transfer a name newer than 60 days.
Look at the Godaddy.com auction section to see a massive listing of names for sale, some with buy now prices.
