I have made a sale on eBay, I got an email that checkout was complete, but the payment is pending.
This happened to me once but the payment actually had cleared, and I sent my buyers package later than it should have been.

Does it say anything about an Echeck? An Echeck has to clear their bank like a regular paper check.
It is also possible you are still on the 21 day hold at Paypal and your money is still being held until the buyer leave feedback for it.
