Help me understand Internet speeds? - RaNdOm - 04-08-2014 09:23 PM At&t offers different internet speeds, 1.5 Mbps 3 Mbps 6Mbps etc. What do those download speeds equal in KB/s. - Tha Ram - 04-08-2014 09:29 PM 1 MB = 1024 KB Therefore 1.5 MB = 1536 KB 3 MB = 3072 KB 6 MB = 6144 KB - Matt - 04-08-2014 09:39 PM 1 mbps = 1024 kb/s - Fred - 04-08-2014 09:47 PM They have no direct bearing on download speeds. The connection needs a lot of bandwidth just to maintain itself. The more bandwidth you have the more it leaves free for the download. considerign most services can deliver 8 Mbps now, with common bandwidth of 20 Mbps, these are all quite slow. If you get 10 % of the lower bandwidth download speeds you would be lucky. On the higher ones you can get 75 %. But on a busy site their actual upstream speed will slow you down. - Marko - 04-08-2014 09:52 PM 1.5MBps=150-175 kb/s download 3 Mbps = 300-350 kb/s download 6Mbps = 600-700 kb/s download |
