Is this bad? If so how do I fix it? - Lilium - 04-08-2014 09:26 PM Ok so I got this email through my Samsung Galaxy S3 and opened it. It was claiming to be from Banks of America (I don't use this bank since I use Arvest), and said something about me moving like 18 million dollars. It then told me that I needed to answer questions including full name and bank account. My mom then told me I shouldn't have opened it cause they can get my information. How can I fix this? P.S. I don't have my real name listed on my email. - Tom - 04-08-2014 09:34 PM There's nothing to worry about as long as you didn't reply with any info, if you just looked at the email that's fine. Just delete it and everything will be ok. - Mimi - 04-08-2014 09:44 PM If you just opened the email but didn't give them any information or reply it's probably fine. If you clicked an actual link from a bank you didn't recognize in an email scam that is so widely known and gave them any information at all - you should probably go to a doctor to check for brain damage. I would run a very up-to-date anti-malware scan to see if it picks up anything malicious. - refath - 04-08-2014 09:51 PM delete your email.its a really best for you. - Foolishthrone677 - 04-08-2014 09:52 PM It's a scam. Someone trying to steal your personal information. I just delete email of that kind. Just never give them any personal information, and you will be fine. Best idea is, never open the email. Just delete it. |
