I'm thinking of purchasing this phone, but before I do, I want to make sure that Instagram will run on it. Thanks!

Yes despite common misconception instagram works on just about every android device. However since the operation system is 4.0 it can not TAKE videos. You CAN still watch videos and use every other aspect of that application but in order to take videos your phone needs to be 4.1.1 or higher. Which is any form of Android Jelly Bean. But yes it will still work.
