is it a good investment to start a forum? - medoampir - 04-08-2014 09:42 PM

I have a good Idea (I think) for a forum, and I'm saying that it is a good one because it is not there and a lot of people need it.
BUT, it will need a budget of $300/mo as a starting, so If at some level I needed to increase my budget to $1,000/mo ,
do I expect a revenue to cover all this?!

I'm expecting a lot of traffic after a while...

I would say no it's a bad idea.

I've been a web entrepreneur and web developer for years.

The fact is, I've seen too many forums start up, and fail.

It takes a LOT of effort to get a profitable (and worthwhile) forum off the ground.

Take a look for yourself. There are so many "Sad" forums out there with the "latest post" years ago.

Is this what you want? A forum that's abandoned?

:o

PS: If you're passionate, and I mean VERY passionate about whatever topic it is, I say go for it.

If you want to get a fast return on investment.. Do something else.

Just my $.02
