Why there's no copy of famous social networking sites? - piesays - 04-09-2014 02:28 PM

1) Is there any similar sites like facebook, twitter, google plus, myspace, yahoo-answers etc etc??
2) If tomorrow comes a exact copy of say Facebook, will Facebook have the rights to sue the upcoming site?
3) Do the websites have their contents copyrighted?

Generally all website content is copyrighted, though some like Yahoo Answers provide data feeds allowing other sites to reproduce their content.

There may well be clone of some of these sit that have remained in obscurity. You might not be giving enough value to being first and already having an enormous user base,

You might find pre-made site scripts that mimic several of the sites mentioned, with a web search like: myspace clone.

Bear in mind that sites like Facebook operated for years from investor money, a clone would also face an expensive userbase development period.

The sites own their posts. Not copyright but still own the information.
