I just don't get amateur webcam sites. Like, if the women I see there are all amateurs, then how come I need to pay?

Because they're using their bodies to make money? If you don't want to pay, nobody's forcing you to watch are they?

The term "amateur webcam models" refers to the fact that the women performing are not professional models working in studios, but just regular women, from all over the world. Many users prefer to chat with real women, because they are less fake and more inventive.
These amateurs though, are performing because you pay them (even though some evidently have fun during the shows). If you want them to do whatever you say, you have to cough up. In my humble opinion, it's a small price to pay for this form of online entertainment.
