article submission is that when we write articles and submit to high pr article sites to increase backlink.
where as the guest blogging also called as blog commenting in which we put link in that blog.
the name should be keyword

Compared to Article submissions Guest posting works good these days, Write fresh content and request for guest posting on same niche website/blogs.
Give one or two links on the Author bio section, and the links also must be related to the Article will be good.

Article Submission usually offers a link in the author bio But guest blogging offers multiple benefits which include relationship building, targeted audience and more.

Article submission: You upload a content in Article Submission Website.
Guest Blog Posting:You send your content to other blog owner, if he like your content and approve(Quality & Fresh) it then he can post in his Blog. That is Guest blog Posting.

I think both are effective but these days guest blogging is looking important. But according to Google search algorithm both are harmful if you use seo tactics for get organic ranking.
