Why Is My Facebook Public? - BaggieBadBoy - 04-10-2014 08:08 PM

I recently discovered that by typing my name into Google brought my Facebook account up to anyone and I am wondering how I ccould stop this as it worries me.

How do I stop being advertised on Google and other search engines?????
I have gone to my privacy settings and changed the search engine settings to priviate but when I search Google, I am still
visible.

WHY?

Google controls everything

change your facebook settings and mark your account as private, then it's only accessible to the friends already on your list.

Did you check privacy settings?

Top-right "Settings" tab
In drop down menu, Privacy Settings.
There's a section that asks if you want to be public in search engines. Voila.

go to settings then privacy setting then the 4th one down is search. There is a box that says "Public Search Results
This setting only allows search engines to access your publicly available information and any information you set to Everyone. This does not include anything you've shared with just your friends or friends of friends (see preview)."
You need to uncheck the box next to this and then your done. Smile
