Do sites like myspace, facebook, youtube use a certain CMS they develop themselves? - Jonathan - 04-12-2014 03:39 AM

are free CMS like joomla too limited on users customization? because they must follow certain rules on templates in order to be used and seem to look the same feel and style in sites that use them.

Yes, Myspace and Facebook were developed from the ground up. They are content management systems that were developed internally... which ultimately provides greater flexibility for them to adapt to changing social needs of their user community.

Joomla is kind of a turn-key solution for people who are either not motivated enough to build their own CMS or do not have the knowledge to do so. This is not to say it isn't a robust and powerful CMS, however it could never provide the kind of flexibility and adaptability that a custom made solution would.
