What is a good site to start a blog? - RachRenea - 04-14-2014 03:56 AM

i have a very relaxed job where i can serf the net and pretty much do anything i want. The only problem is i have to stay in the office for 8 hours straight! I get very bored and thought i could start a blog, any good sites? Which ones are the best?

Blogspot.com is a free one by google. It's pretty much the same as all blogs and you can customize the background and the format and stuff.

I second the Blogspot.com recommendation. It's free, it's been around a long time and it's very reliable and easy to use. Not perfect but you can't get any better for free.

I have a blog of my own and it is a Blogger (blogspot) blog, i use it to upload my drawings, posters, scrolls and other artwork i do, It is free to use, you can assign your own top-level domain and the are quite a few design, template & layout options. I think they are great.

Another you could use is a wordpress blog. I havent used this myself, but alot of people do and i have alot of nice looking blogs using wordpress too. Im sure either way, you will be happy with them.

before i would have agreed with most of the answers so far, BUT recently
Josh Bachynski did a real world test of link building and it was surprising to learn that wordpress blog will outrank a Google or other blogs for the same keywords, backlinks and data

after you decide what you will do this for other than to cease the boredom this might be important to you

you can watch the video @ se nuke

Wordpress.org is the best in my opinion. It takes a bit longer to learn, but it has the best graphics and flexibility.

Good luck.
