On your HTC, go to the market, then go to "my apps" - this will show all the apps that you have installed on your phone. If there are any updates available, it'll show an orange symbol, and if there's multiple, there'll be an "update all" button at the top.
If you don't have any orange update symbols, then there aren't any updates available for the apps you have at that time.
