Can I use my own router if I cancel my att internet to get the new member lower price? - tbag2325 - 04-15-2014 12:47 AM

I have at&t U-verse internet 12 mbps. Currently it's $51/month and I would like to get the lower price of $40/month. My question is: if I cancel the existing service and sign up for the same service can I still use the same router or will at&t make me buy a new one?

Try this first. Call them up and ask them to lower you to the other one. Explain that you have been a loyal customer and you would like to keep their service but have seen a competitor with a better deal and are thinking of switching. They will probably give you a deal. My roommate and I had Century link and was paying about $40 for 12Mbps. We moved and was able to get the 40Mbps so he called and got a deal. For 6 months we paid $20 a month for 40Mbps. Now we got a new deal for another 6 months for $30 a month for 40Mbps. This is because he called and threatened to leave.
