in the forums you have to create the signature like anchor text and also in the bio. but it will take some time in forums. if you try to post your website link in forums. One day google will penalize your website and also forums will remove your account from name database server. so becareful in forums.

First you need to register with your name and password,
You can participate on discussions on your favorite topic where your interested.,
You can start a new thread on related categories.

If you are a active member on the forums website, they will allow you to add your signature with your website link.
Don't spam there, don't use ads promotions, Don't give your links directly on the forums.
Is your link related to the thread you can add your link if they accepted(some forums websites allows direct links).
