how do I add my business to LOCAL? - Charles - 04-15-2014 11:59 PM

When I perform a search my business does not show up on LOCAL. How do I add?

There may not be a local search registry to submit it to.

Having a physical business address tends to be an important factor, that's a problem for some home based services.

The business web site should display the address ion normal editable, machine readable format in the Contact Us page where search spiders can find it, referencing the city a couple of times in content may help, as well as writing location specific articles for the site.
Getting listed in various (mostly free) online business directories may help.
A Google places-map page is fairly essential, your claim of ownership is confirmed by a postcard, after which you can expand the content of the Google+ page Google will have setup for your business, you can broaden the categories the business is listed in as well.
Always use the exact address format when submitting for listings, so the search robots can match them all up.

Do a search online about Google places, Google+ local, Yahoo and Bing local and other citation sites. Complete and claim/verify all of your profiles in as many websites as you can. Remember to keep your information consistent especially the NAP (Name-Address-Phone) of the business in your profile. Also place the same NAP on your website (should be Text based).
