In a word, worthless.
Edit: And NO it does NOT send it over multiple connections. The route that packets take is solely determined by the amount of congestion on the internet. Anyone who believes these so called download managers do anything more than infect your pc with adware is a fool.

it sends more than one connection over to a download to make the download faster
