Question for Developers/Techy people (for a dog refuge I volunteer for)? - 358 - 04-16-2014 07:06 PM

I was hoping you might be able to help out with a techy-question I have (it's for the dog refuge which I volunteer for). As I'm not a developer, I have no idea if this is possible - so I though you might be able to help! I will happily pay it forward one day!

Apparently it's too time consuming/hard to add a Facebook "like" button underneath each dog on the site here: http://www.dogshome.org.au/medium-dogs/

So I thought we could add a "tell your friends" button instead for each dog? When a user clicks on the button they would be prompted to share in their news feed information about that particular dog which can include a picture, description and URL link. That would be the most effective way I can think of.

Do you know what the code snippets would be for executing this? They use silverstripe CMS.

I'm hoping it might help spread the word about the doggies and help get them re-homed.
If anyone knows how to do this could you please provide me with an example code-snippet?

Your idea is fine. But the facebook solution takes 5 seconds.
