Is the internet sometimes overwhelming to you (navigating various sites)? - Carlos - 04-16-2014 07:50 PM

Sometimes when I visit a new site, I'm pretty much immediately overwhelmed but try to isolate very specific things that ARE important, rather than pointless things that distract my attention. But so many web sites have at least 10 sections, various ads, a central news update section, and possibly a horizontal toolbar as well. And most of those things, given each website, I don't give a hoot about. I just care about, like, 1 or 2 links on that site, and everything else is distraction. wtf. Are you guys overwhelmed too? Why are websites made so robustly? I think most people have gotten used to it and filter stuff out but... dang can't there be any simple-minded websites like google or something? Like, a plane white screen that has a simple textbox for searching the web? dang mon

No I don't tend to see this as a problem I run into a lot but some websites are poorly designed. Sites should think about the user experience as much as the look.
