Why is my internet so slow? - Devin Brooks - 04-17-2014 10:12 PM

During some rush hours it can have a ping of 600 and download .1 and upload .05. My friends pay the same and have the same provider as me but get 4 or 5.
I have upgraded to a newer router thinking that was the problem but it didn't really help.

I am assuming you have cable? Cable providers run fiber to a certain point and then install some sort of hub (I forget what it is called or if it is a router). This device provides a certain amount of bandwidth to all of the places nearby. There is enough bandwidth coming in on the fiber to provide all you can use as long as you are the only one using it. However, during peak hours, all of those places connected to that "hub" share the total bandwidth available and that amount is exceeded, causing things to slow down.

You do not have this problem with DSL, however, DSL can go nowhere near as fast as cable. With AT&T Uverse your TV signal actually takes up a part of your bandwidth so the number of people watching TV affects your available bandwidth.

Go to run and type Gpedit.msc and then hit enter and then go to computeren configuration and then go to
Administrative templates and then go to nework and then go to Qos packet schedular and then go to and then go to limit reversable bandwidth and then you have to click on disable and then click on apply and then ok enjoy huh and visit my channel on youtube
