What do you think of McCain and Obama's facebook pages? - peachy - 10-15-2012 08:58 PM

As of RIGHT NOW:

Obama has 1,967,340 supporters (including me) on his Facebook page
McCain has 553,545

Anyone a supporter? Why do you think Obama has an overwhelming lead here? I obviously know that facebook isn't an election, so please don't bash me for that.

I noticed that the other day when I joined McCain's Facebook as a supporter.

Because Obama appeals to the younger audience, those who use facebook. Some of his supporters aren't even old enough to vote.

McCain appeals to middle age and older. They can't be bothered with facebook.

I'm an older voter, I didn't even know they had a facebook. Thanks for telling me, I'm going to go join Johns.

Most polls have shown that Obama has a major lead with younger voters. Facebook attracts (as a whole) younger users and people who are more technologically savvy as a whole. Seems pretty obvious to me. Now, if that actually translates to votes or not is another story...

One reason is facebook is mainly geared towards teens and younger adults.
