I have just began to create a website on a cms platform. So i just wanna make sure everything goes well, so what are some on page and off page optimization techniques and practises.

On-Page: Write content for your site without thinking of keywords. Google will automatically assign you keywords. Your off-page links will determine your rankings. Don't fill in meta keywords fields.
Off-Page: diversify link sources, manual links, unique content, good dofollow/nofollow ratio, deep links, diversified anchor text, social signals, etc.

Onpage SEO: Optimizing page title, meta description, meta tags, url structure, body tags, keyword density, image SEO and internal linking.
Off page SEO: Social marketing, Forum Marketing, Directory Submission, Social Bookmarking, Article submission, Social Answers.
You can do both on page and off page SEO for the website.
