I put an ad on Facebook, but you have to pay per click, and I think that's really stupid. Is there some way I can advertise it cheaply, that I could just pay for the time that the ad is up, instead of per click?

get a twitter account. gain followers and all you have to do is tweet and you get up to 100 views per tweet amazing.
