Some are direct shipping Chinese sellers, others but in large wholesale lots and due to competition sell at prices with very little profit.

I believe an expose on designer dark glasses mentioned there being an 800% markup from manufacturer cost to retail price in that industry, lots of room for discounts.

Some ebay sellers are grab bag pallets of old models, customer returns, etc. that large store chains dump at liquidation centers.

many people shop Goodwill stores, and other thrift stores scouring for new items and precious items to re-sell on Ebay. These are called Ebay re-sellers. For example, these people know when the merchandise is newly displayed at the thrift store (or work at the thrift store) in order to identify the highly valued donations, pay a low rate for them and re-sell them for a very high amount on Ebay. Hope this helps you understand Ebay.

There can be many reasons for instance, they do not have to buy or rent a commercial site or hire too many full time employees.
