How do I get a WEP password for our wifi? - Sly Cooper - 04-20-2014 02:40 AM

For some reason our regular password isn't working on my PS3 or laptop so I need to find the WEP key. Where do I find it? I checked on the router and it has three barcodes with different numbers and a few other sets of numbers under that. Is there a certain one I enter?

if you want to change the wifi password using PC, then open your browser and type 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 and write the user name "admin" and the password is also "admin". now you can find options for your password.
if that doesn't help, i'll tell you another way. Smile

Hello, your network only has one password. It might be that your security is not WEP type. To make it WEP, you need to enter the IP address of the router into one of your browser's address bar. This will take you to the router config page. You might need to enter a username and a password. You will find both either on the back of your router or in the manual. You can also find it by googling your router model. Once you are in the config page, look for anything that says wireless security. It might be under Wireless->Security if it's D-Link. Make sure it's Wireless though. Now here you'll see all the security settings of your current router. You'll see the username/password fields. Somewhere there, you should be able to edit the security type. Choose WEP and enter a new key. Now you have a WEP secured network. Enter the passkey on your PS3 and enjoy gaming. Thanks. Smile Let me know if it works.

WEP passwords should be a 10 digit number. Just Google search your brand of router and find out how to log into it to check/change the password. (I would also recommend you move to WPA instead of WEP, WEP can be broken in seconds by someone who knows what they are doing.)
