Can a site limit rss feeds? - Danae - 04-20-2014 10:46 AM

I subscribe to a site where it is (can be) usual to have more than 25 entries. These are stories or photos that are either new or updated. Just for my own understanding, is it normal that I only get a maximum of 25 entries when it updates, even if I go to the site and there are 50+ there. I can't seem to get any answer and wonder if I'm doing something wrong or if that's just how it works on this site (maybe even both!)

Yes, a site can limit the number of entries on their RSS feeds, usually because of load issues or load balancing. By limiting the number of updates, it is also easier to ensure that a misconfiguration at the federation level doesn't kill any other services by flooding them with entries.
