Craigslist account question? - Jenni - 04-20-2014 11:41 AM

Can you take out the number you used to verify it & also can you delete the account . Also can you use the number only for one account

There's bound to be a delete account function, I'm pretty sure you can't reuse a phone number, lots of professional Craigslist spammers would go crazy doing that. At one time people used demo cell phones in stores to register on Craigslist.

No and no and yes.

You get one craigslist account, not two, not three. One is all you should need, and the phone verification is tied to that account. After 90 days, IF the account is in good standing, that number MAY be available again. I haven't seen that actually happen, nor have I seen anyone experience this, but it's supposed to be true.

Accounts are not deleteable, as there is no reason for them to be deleted. Only you and staff have access to your account, and it does not generate emails, phone calls, or any activity at all. It just sits there unless you are using it and posting ads. Walk off and abandon it.

If you are having problems and think that deleting the account would "fix" them, well, there are usually other solutions. Ask the craigslist help desk forum for advice. https://forums.craigslist.org/?forumID=9
