Internet on phone stops working but internet on laptop still works? - Tiffany - 04-20-2014 01:28 PM

Just now my iphone isnt loading ANYTHING having to do with the internet like youtube, chrome, the app store but my laptop that I'm using right now works fine and so does my brothers and it's making me really frustrated. I'v turned it on and off and the internet still wont work on it (from the router in my home) but here's the weird thing... I can be on a Facetime call? that is the only thing that is working. In the top lefy corner of my iphone it has the W-Fi symbol so I'm not sure why it is not working! I'v connected and disconeccted many times from the Wi-Fi and it's there and says it's working but it wont work. I've tried this while I'm on and also off Facetime and it does not work either way.

PLEASE help.

I have come across this problem myself and have found others with this problem. it us usually a laptop that loses the internet but it can happen to any connected device.

The problem isn't with your phone. it is the router. each device has a different network IP address assigned to it. Some times a particular internal address will lose internet connectivity and have limit or no access at all.

the way to fix this is to reboot your modem, router and all devices.

First turn off all your phones and computers connected to your network. then unplug your router. then turn off and unplug your modem.

Now wait 60 seconds then plugin and turn on your modem.
Now wait 2 minutes and plug in your router.
Now wait 60 seconds and turn on your device ONE AT A TIME. Wait for each to completely boot up and connect before starting another.

This should take care of the problem.
