I would get really sexy about it, and do like some kinky role play stuff.
I dress up like a cop and "pull him over" for driving while intoxicatingly hot. I'd ask him for license and registration and then I'd ask him to "step out of the vehicle" and I'd search him. F*ck yes.
But ignoring my freakish joke, what do you mean "search"? Like go through his/her phone or Facebook account or something? Don't do it. If you don't trust him/her, break up, but at least respect his/her privacy.
