...or an online shopping website, currency exchange website, money sending website, etc, is the money actually taken out of your bank account & sent to an account the Companies hold when you transfer money to an online account?? Or does the money only get transferred out of your bank account once a transaction takes place when you buy/sell something or transfer money??

ur money is transfered to paypal accounrt and after you receives the items the money is transfer to the seller account...

funds are actually transferred to the on line site, Like Pay Pal, and then can be used for purchases.
