Is the Samsung Galaxy S3 better than the iPhone 4s? - Ramona - 04-22-2014 02:13 AM

I'm looking to purchase one of the two, and I've asked multiple people their opinion, most of them saying the Samsung is better, which I have to agree in some aspects. I like the iPhone mostly because of the exterior (I really like the size and the weight and the shape) and because I've had better luck with the App store as far as the apps being more up to date as well as a better variety and I also like iTunes a lot better. I'm also very familiar with and like the interface of the iPhone.

On the other hand, the iPhone has some pretty tough competition in the Galaxy S3. I like how the interface is more customizable and has a lot more features that can be utilized. Overall, most things about it seem a little, if not a lot, better. However, I'm not a very big fan of the exterior, it's actually probably the biggest thing putting me off to the Samsung; it's a bit too big and I don't like how it's so light and the shape of it is more of a rounded rectangle as opposed to the solid rectangle with just the rounded edges of the iPhone. I also don't really like Google Play, and I'm unsure what the equivalent for iTunes is on an Android.

I'm 16 years old and I'd only be using either phone for personal, recreational purposes and would probably only be utilizing texting, calling, and a few apps such as Instagram, Tumblr, weather, etc. as well as obviously the camera (speaking of which, which one has a better camera?). You know, just really basic things. I've also used both devices many times, so I'm pretty familiar with them both. I know I might as well be getting a basic Android type phone, but I can get a good deal on these phones so I figured might as well.

It'd probably be based more on personal preference, but what phone do you think would be better for me?
I realize the iPhone 4s is pretty outdated, but I didn't see any improvements made in the iPhone 5 that were worth the extra money, and it's not a big deal for me to have the latest version. I also really don't like the exterior, if that's saying at all how much the outside matters to me.

Galaxy s3 is better than iphone 4s even iphone 5 when looking into features... if you want smaller screen then go for iphone and if you want expensive market too... most of the android apps and games are free.
Talking about camera, s3 is better than 4s...

I feel that Apple does offer a solid product, but at a premium price. They are easier to use, but the complication of Android is simply that you can completely customize your phone just as you would with a Windows based computer. It's daunting at first. But you only install what you need and want. This is the real function of Google Play, as it is an installer of the apps on the phone. In fact you can visit Google Play on your computer and have apps installed on your phone without even having your phone near you.

Several music players are available for Android phones. You are not locked into iTunes.

Camera quality is excellent on both phones. You can remove the battery on the Samsung and have a spare ready if the phone goes dead while uploading photos.

I could go on, but overall I feel the key to the iPhone is that it is trendy and easy to use. The key to the Samsung is that it is powerful and very flexible with a really great, large and clear display. You pay a premium for the iPhone vs. many excellent Android based phones that are smaller than the Galaxy S3.

iphone 4s is far better than s3, i have both experience i never feel save on android because its always sucks lag and apps crash any time. android is customisable but iphone is also with jailbreak. small screen is much reliable than gs3.

In the end I think it comes down to personal preference. Some prefer Android devices, some prefer Apple. I was researching both as I was in the market for a new phone(have used Android for a few years now) and while the S3 has a better camera and some better specs, I did go with the iPhone because it is smaller in size (it needs to fit in my pocket for work, and sometimes dress pants have smaller pockets, plus I have relatively small hands) and where I live iPhone accessories are far easier to find than S3 accessories (since the S4 has come out now but a lot of people are still using iPhone 4s). That coupled with the iPhone being just a tad less expensive.
