So I have been following this person for a while now on tumblr, and she has been following me. We share the same interests and one time we had a gigantic post discussion on our Interests. Also we talk a lot. Like she seems super nice!!
So the only things I asked her was how old she was, and she replied with her age, and said when her birthday was, and told me her name.
So I want to tell her my name, but I've never done it before online. Should I? I won't tell her my last name.
Btw I'm 18 and she's gonna be 18 soon.

Sure - you can tell 'her' your name. It probably won't change the fact that you've actually been chatting with a 52-year-old biker from Casper, Wyoming.

There is no harm in giving her your first name. If she was going to try to look you up, she couldn't do it with just a first name.
Just be careful about any other information you give and what you say to her. You don't know this person, so it's possible she's not even close to 18. She may not even be a "she". You never know. When it comes to online relationships (even friendships), you have to be careful because people lie.

Listen I want to tell you something you never know who that person is!! It could be an adult man it could be a younger girl or could be a police officer be really really careful on the Internet
