Ebay question please help? - Eric - 04-25-2014 05:43 AM

So whenever I sell something, people often message me prior to committing to buying about shipping costs. They give me a zip code and want me to tell them how much shipping will be. I'm new to eBay so how would I figure out specific shipping costs if its calculated shipping based on location?

Best way to do this is go by flat rate. Go to the post office and see what size of a box it will take to ship the size of item you have. Then get the highest distance amount that the post office can give you. This doesn't include over seas items. Additional shipping required for that.

In the shipping section of the listing put the weight or size of the item and the various shipping methods. What do you have now for shipping cost? A flat rate ? If you use the Ebay calculator, the buyers can see the cost at their end from your location to theirs.

Listen upon placing your auction it gives you the option to set a price for shipping. That should be clear in the auction page without having to have all these people email you for shipping cost!
