Internship as a web developer? - kiredeel - 04-25-2014 07:27 PM

I currently have an offer to intern as a web developer at a growing medical company during the summer. I'm a Network Technologies student and to be quite frank, I don't think I have any real skills to do the job of a web developer. I have taken multiple intro java courses and few networking classes along with a computer architecture class, but I don't have any experience in IT. Although I've done well in my degree for the first year(3.6 GPA), I feel ill-prepared to be a web developer at this point. Am I going in over my head? What kind of duties will I be doing at this kind of internship as a web developer? Any useful information would be much appreciated!

It's an internship so they're not expecting you to crank out the next Facebook or similar site. Basic HTML is simple enough, but when you get in to some of the CSS and jQuery that can be a bit more involved and your programming background will come in handy.

You're there to learn during an internship and if you're being given the chance I'd snap it up. It's going to look good on your resume.
