On Facebook, how can I restrict some people from commenting on my public posts? - 569 - 04-26-2014 12:09 PM

I wonder is there any way to restrict people from commenting on my public statuses? I know, if I enabled 'Followers' I can manage it on settings (followers comments). But I don't want to allow followers on my profile.

I mean, I just want to disable people commenting on my posts other than my friends or relatives.

Is there any way? Thanks in advance!
ChiefHelper: Thanks for the answer, but I want to keep my post public, I only want to restrict from commenting, it's okay to seeing or liking. Hope it's cleared.

Hi Ashika,

Yeah, of course there is a feature to restrict comments on public posts.

Recently Facebook has rolled out a new feature which will allows you to control who can comment on your public posts. (It's still not launched for all users, let's hope this will soon become for everyone)

By turning on this filter you can restrict people from commenting on your public posts other than your friends.

Here's how to control 'Who can can comment on my updates":

1. Go to 'Settings'
2. Click on 'Public Posts' from the left menu
3. Then click on 'Public Post Comments'
4. Just turn the 'Filter On'

Now you have restricted users to comment on your public posts

Hope this helps!
