torrents details hi i want to download a torrent can you tell me what are seeders and leaches? - Hacel - 04-26-2014 09:20 PM

If the torrent seeders and leaches are low or high so wil it take more time to download?

I'll simplify this in the best way I know how. The higher the seed/leech ratio is (i.e. the proportion of seeders to leechers), the faster it will download.

Hi,

Seeders are the people who have the complete file and are actively sharing it.

Leaches are the people who have the complete file but close their torrent program after it's finished downloading and are not sharing.

Torrents rely on as many reliable seeders and as few leaches as possible, so the people then downloading the file acquire the file fast. I must add that I hope you are not using it to download copyrighted content; and that if you do, I recommend that after viewing that you support the artist/developer and to buy the item(s).

Seeders are the ones uploading it
Leachers are the ones downloading it

The more Seeders the faster the download
the more leachers the slower

but the more leachers means the download is probably safer.
