Why did my facebook page change? - aastinky - 10-15-2012 09:03 PM

I returned to facebook yesterday. It looked the same. I wrote a comment. Then I got back on today to see if anyone had responded to it (because my e-mail isn't too reliable at telling me). Someone had liked my post.

Now comes the real problem. When I got on, it changed the layout to a timeline. It said that it wasn't going to be permanent until August 29. I know that some people had used timelines before but it was a choice. I don't use it too much because I always forget how to use it. So why do they force me to confuse myself even more? Stupid facebook!

Earlier I considered making a question called, "Can I kill facebook now and just get it over with?" That seems like a good idea now!
Nits_da_champ: It was never easy, and it's not getting easier!
who put the bomp in the bomp shu bomp.: Do you think that I should put that question up now?

They have been rolling out Timeline for each of its users, nobody knows if users get it automatically if they don't have it yet a day later. There is no way you can remove that or revert back to older version of Facebook.

Timeline is simpler and more systemic than earlier layout.

Edit: Its the way you feel it, but you or I can't help it. Either accept it or leave the site. Rest choice is yours.

Oh you have Timeline. Eventually all users will have Timeline whether you like it or not. I got it when I wanted to play a game. I hate it.

Facebook are moving everyone to Timeline and you cant remove Timeline once its enabled on your account.

However, if you dont like the 2 column layout of timeline, you can view it in a single column format, which is easier to read and is similar to the old style profiles, if you install the FB Purity browser extension and follow the guide here:
http://fbpurity.com/disable-timeline

It also has lots of other useful features for cleaning up and customising your Facebook.

FB Purity is a safe and highly rated extension, that has been reviewed in The Washington Post, CNET, Lifehacker and PCWorld, and has over 66,600 likes on facebook.
