Rabbit Pedigree Question? - Agent - 04-27-2014 10:57 PM
I just got my first mini rex on Sunday and she came with a pedigree. However, after reading around on different websites I've noticed that there is some information missing. The pedigree lists all rabbits back to her GG grandparents and some have registration & GC numbers but there are no weights or tattoo numbers listed. That's not normal is it? Was the pedigree just made up to get a few extra dollars?

It is not normal for ARBA pedigreed rabbits to be missing tattoos (on their pedigrees or in general). It does happen on occasion that weights have not been properly recorded and the rabbits may still be purebred, but tattoos are what guarantee it. Is the rabbit that you picked up tattooed? I would guess that the breeder was uninformed on how to correctly pedigree rabbits and is not reputable (but not necessarily at fault on purpose either). Goodluck with your first Mini Rex, they are a lot of fun!
