How do I stop unwanted mail from unknown prisoners writing to me? - moongazerlily - 04-27-2014 11:03 PM
Since August I have received about 8-10 letters from different inmates in different prisons across the US. A few I have called the prisons and they do not have access to the internet according to the people I am talking to. I have absolutely no idea how they are getting my home address and every single one of them claims from a pen pal site but when I have written and asked, they do not remember what website. The prisons I guess cannot look in their internet history, of the one's who do have internet access and see where they are getting this.
However, 2x now I have gotten emails from inmatemessage.com, stating so and so has taken me out of their contacts list. I absolutely know now prisoners and am wondering why I'd be in these people's contact lists to begin with. Whenever I try to go to the website I get an error... so there's no way for me to contact any one at that website to find out what is going on! I have a feeling someone who got angry with me, an ex maybe, or someone put my address up on a website somewhere for prison pen pals... as they claim it's a pen pal website but ONLY prisoners have been writing to me and this is not something I'd have signed up for myself. I've Googled my address and cannot find what website it could possibly be on either.
Does any one suggest anything? I do not want these people to get into trouble and have their mail privileges taken away but I do not appreciate letters from people I have no clue who they even are or how they got my address. Especially with the strange coincidence of my only receiving letters from prisoners from ALL over the US!

Contact FBI. Internet fraud is a federal crime. Even people in prison can be prosecuted for it, and it will extend the sentence of anyone not in for life.
Get a mailbox.

Contact the Post Office Security and see if they can help.
Second write Return to Sender with deceased written on it and drop it mail box.
Have emails go to Junk email and do not try to unsubscribe to any unknown website as this will prove yours is a good email.
Have you searched you name?
