I am SO grossed out, how do i get out of this lease?! help please!? - 193 - 04-27-2014 11:10 PM

I posted a question earlier about what to do with my psycho roommate. Long story short, she's lived here since Feb 14th and has only paid me $23 in bills because she said she's "poor." However, she still buys new nike shoes and weed. There is nothing in my contract about paying utilities equally, and she continues to pay rent so the landlord is letting her stay.

She's been stealing all of my roommates stuff and lied about it when confronted. She's stolen/still stealing: our food, a north face, 2 ralph lauren sweaters, beverages, cleaning supplies, and toothpaste..on top of all that, I discovered she stole my UNDERWEAR. Used might I add..because I put my used clothes in the hallway and my door is always locked so she's never able to be in there. On top of all of that, she stole my friend's very personalized blanket and posted it on instagram. It's a blanket with her and her horse on the front. This blanket has never left my roommate's room, meaning she walked in and searched through her things to find it.

SHE STOLE MY UNDERWEAR...I am so disgusted right now. I really don't know what to do! By law, can the landlord do anything?

I also think she keyed my car. There are a BUNCH of new scratches that aren't where normal car scratches occur, like on top of my trunk, etc.

Any help would be wonderful, this stress is seriously affecting my health Sad (I have hyperthyroidism which can worsen and lead to serious side effects if very stressed).

Any suggestions?? thanks!

Honestly I don't think your landlord could do anything about it. But I would try contacting the police and seeing if they could do something about it and maybe find your "friend" a new place to stay. Tell the police how your "friend" is doing, and what she stole and if he finds it anywhere he would surely give it back to you.

Ask her to leave and find a new place, you don't feel comfortable with her and she cannot stay no more. Be firm not mean (but not soft), even if she pays something she has to understand than she's not making living together easy. Don't be like "ok you have one more chance", just tell her leave, and be home when she packs here things so she doesn't steal you. I hope she won't freak out. But it's best for you.

I agree with Thing 2. See what the police can do.

Infrared 23 is limited. Not only is this going to be ten times harder to find in stores than the classic, many countries that are getting plentiful infrareds are not getting the infrared23s at all. This will be harder to get. Some of us will will have to hold that L. NDC is releasing this TLO, and other stores will also release online, with much lower numbers than the classic.
